Man Killed in Scooter Accident Identified
Victim was found early Monday in the parking lot of a Santa Clara shopping center.

A man killed in a scooter accident Monday, Dec. 16 in a shopping center parking lot in Santa Clara has been identified as Ronald Jimenez, a San Jose resident, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
Jimenez, 50, had been driving his two-wheeled scooter in the dark in a parking lot at 3109 Stevens Creek Blvd. in Santa Clara early Monday when he hit a parking stop or the pole of a handicap-parking sign, Santa Clara police said.

At about 4:30 a.m. Monday, police in San Jose received a call about an accident victim in the parking lot but later realized the incident occurred in Santa Clara and notified Santa Clara police, police said.
Santa Clara officers went to the scene at the Winchester Shopping Center, across the street from the Westfield Valley Fair mall, and found the man deceased near his motorized scooter, police said.
