Los Gatos Police Search For Suspect After Robbery Attempt

Victim is shown 'shiny object' during crime, police say.

Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police are investigating a recent attempted robbery during which a victim was held up in a parking lot located at Winchester Boulevard and Newell Avenue.

According to police, a 53-year-old San Jose man was approached by the male robber at around 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 and demanded money.

The suspect showed the victim a "shiny object" during the crime, but the victim didn't know if it was a gun or not, said Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police Sgt. spokesman Stephen Walpole.

When the victim told the robber he didn't have any money, the suspect escaped, Sgt. Walpole added.

The crime is under investigation and there have been no arrests in connection to the attempted robbery, he added.
