Los Gatos Police Log: Drunk Brandishes Knife, PG&E Thief Impostor

The following crime information was provided by the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police. The incidents are for the period of Jan. 7-12, 2014.

Mail Theft: 2:14 p.m. Jan. 7 on Francis Oaks Way, mail is stolen from a mailbox
Auto Burglary: 7:49 a.m. Jan. 7 on So. Santa Cruz Avenue, a vehicle's window is smashed
Mental Health: 8:02 a.m. Jan. 7 at undisclosed location
Vehicle Tow: 10:17 a.m. Jan. 7 on Leewood Court
Vehicle Tow: 2:23 a.m. Jan. 8 on University Avenue
Auto Burglary: 5:03 p.m. Jan. 8 on Garden Hill Drive, vehicles' windows were smashed
Identity Theft: 7:21 p.m. Jan. 8 on Ester Lane
Petty Theft: 1:35 p.m. Jan. 8 on No. Santa Cruz Avenue
Found Property: 11:49 a.m. Jan. 8 on No. Santa Cruz Avenue, miscellaneous cards were found and turned into the police.
Petty Theft: 10:55 a.m. Jan. 8 on Alberto Way
Forgery: 8:33 a.m. Jan. 8 on Blossom Hill Road, a suspect attempted to pass a fraudulent check.
Weapons: 9 p.m. Jan. 12 on Escobar Avenue, a 46-year-old man was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail after brandishing a knife at a victim and being determined to be intoxicated.
Stolen Vehicle: 7:11 a.m. Jan. 10 on Massol Avenue, a vehicle parked on the street was determined to be stolen.
Fraud: 10:28 a.m. Jan. 10 on Blossom Hill Road, a man called an unidentified restaurant and identified himself as a PG&E employee. He threatened to shut off the power if the money was not paid.
Mail Theft: 7:34 a.m. Jan. 10 on Wilder Avenue, packages were stolen from a port
Outstanding Warrant: 4:38 p.m. Jan. 10 on Tait Avenue, two men were contacted while selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door without a town permit. A 30-year-old was issued a new court date for an outstanding warrant associated to a San Jose police case.
Commercial Burglary: 7:20 p.m. Jan. 10 on Los Gatos Boulevard, a 51-year-old man was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for stealing items from a store and being in possession of a controlled substance. 
Stolen Vehicle Recovery: 1:38 a.m. Jan. 10 at Towne Terrace and University Avenue
Assault: 11:19 a.m. Jan. 11 at undisclosed location
Commercial Burglary: 6:29 p.m. Jan. 11 on Dardanelli Lane
Vandalism: 8:11 p.m. Jan. 11 on Belgatos Road
Possession: 12:26 a.m. on More Avenue, a 34-year-old man was arrested for probation violation and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Possession: 11:51 a.m. Jan. 12 at La Rinconada Drive and Winchester Boulevard, a 28-year-old man was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail after being stopped for driving erratically with fresh damage and exhibiting symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A vehicle search led to the discovery of meth, two replica firearms, mixed ammunition, rifle magazines, suspected burglary tools and evidence indicating he was selling narcotics. 
Town Code Violation: 1:29 p.m. Jan. 12 on Browns Lane, a 54-year-old man was found to be living with five dogs on his property, which is against town code. 
Vehicle Code Violation: 5:54 p.m. Jan. 12 on Los Gatos Boulevard, a 41-year-old man was contacted at a road rage incident and was found to have a warrant and false registration.
Mental Health: 7:34 p.m. Jan. 12 at undisclosed location
Residential Burglary: 8:45 a.m. Jan. 12 on Foster Road, property was stolen from a home.
Found Property: 2:08 a.m. Jan. 10 at the Los Gatos Police Operations Building, 15900 Los Gatos Boulevard, a found property report was taken
Hit-And-Run: 6:52 p.m. Jan. 11 on Garden Lane, a parked vehicle was hit
Hit-And-Run: 2:19 p.m. Jan. 12 on No. Santa Cruz Avenue
