Los Gatos Police Blotter, June 26-July 1: Vandalism, Graffiti, Fraud

The following arrest information was supplied by the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Petty Theft

  • An online report of petty theft at Orchard Street in Los Gatos was made at 7:15 a.m., June 26.
  • An unknown suspect entered a busy pottery decoration business located on North Santa Cruz Avenue at 6:24 p.m., June 28 and stole a victim's wallet from her purse while she was distracted with her child's birthday party. Police also reported that the suspect used the victim's credit cards at several stores.
  • A bike was stolen from the side of a house on Los Gatos Boulevard at 6:56 p.m., June 28. A bicycle with a flat tire was found in its place.
  • An online report of petty theft on Winchester Boulevard in Los Gatos was made at 8:33 a.m., July 1.

Grand Theft

  • A citizen reported this his bicycle was stolen at Cleland Avenue in Los Gatos at 9:09 a.m., June 26.
  • An online report was made of grand theft at Garden Hill Drive in Los Gatos at 8:50 a.m., July 1.

Found Bicycle

  • A stolen bicycle was recovered near Kimble and Prospect avenues in Los Gatos at 9:20 a.m., June 26.

Assault/Domestic Violence

  • Genelyn Lugarest, 24, 3:36 p.m., June 26, Mulberry Drive in Los Gatos, was arrested on suspicion of assault/domestic violence.

Mail Tampering

  • Unknown suspect(s) stole a check from a victim's mail box on Zena Avenue in Monte Sereno and cashed the check at an unknown bank at 4:14 p.m., June 16.

Vehicle Recovery

  • Two stolen vehicles were recovered at Cleland Avenue in Los Gatos at 9:42 p.m. and 9:46 p.m. June 26.

Court Order Violation

  • A suspect was arrested for making annoying phone calls to a victim at about 8 p.m., June 26. The suspect had priors.

Burglary

  • Gregory Michael Moore, 31, 2:45 a.m. June 27, at 233 Blossom Hill Road, was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a vending machine at Oak Meadow Park and stealing money. Moore and two other suspects tried to flee the scene, but when police arrived Moore was apprehended and is found with a large amount of $1 bills in his pant pockets and pant legs.

Stolen Vehicle

  • A '93 Nissan Pathfinder was reported stolen at about 6 p.m., June 27 at College Avenue and Jones Road in Los Gatos.

Vandalism

  • A citizen reported that her vehicle was vandalized at Wraight Avenue in Los Gatos at 11:02 a.m., June 28.
  • A known suspect vandalized a vehicle at 11:48 p.m., June 28. The suspect was not located and a warrant for his arrest for felony vandalism was requested.
  • A baseball field on Blossom Hill Road was vandalized with graffiti at 8:37 p.m. June 29.

Auto Burglary

  • An online report of an auto burglary at Gemini Court in Los Gatos was made at 8:39 a.m., July 1.

Found Property

  • A large decorative basked was found by a passerby on North Santa Cruz Avenue at 8:55 p.m., July 1. The item was booked into evidence by the police.

Fraud

  • An unknown suspect(s) pretended to be the victim's granddaughter and scammed her into sending them money at 11:45 a.m. June 29 on Oak Road in Los Gatos.

Commercial Burglary

  • An unknown suspect(s) attempted to break into a victim's storage shed at 3:25 p.m. June 29 on Blossom Hill Road in Los Gatos.
