Los Gatos 'Pill Mill' Doctor Case Delayed Again Until December

Jasna Mrdjen's next court appearance is at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27; she faces 13 felony counts, including an involuntary manslaughter charge, alleging she sold controlled substances to patients involved in illegal drug diversion and resale.

Dr. Jasna Mrdjen, 69, of Mountain View, was arrested in May for allegedly running a "pill mill" operation out of a small clinic at 14125 Capri Drive in Los Gatos.

She appeared before Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Philip H. Pennypacker Nov. 15.

She's alleged to have conspired to sell controlled substances by excessively prescribing narcotics (Oxycodone) to patients involved in illegal diversion and resale, said Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Dana Veazey.

She was arraigned on the charges May 14. She's still in custody on a $1 million warrant, but she could post bail, Veazey said.

Mrdjen has not entered a plea. "We'll be going back for discussion to figure out how the case will be decided," she added.
