Los Gatos Bicyclist in Critical Condition Following Friday's Crash

Boston doctor and others in community who saw the aftermath of crash wonder how victim is doing at hospital.

The bicyclist, described by Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police as a woman in her 30s, was struck shortly before 12:45 p.m. after the vehicles were traveling westbound on Saratoga-Los Gatos Road and collided.

The LGMSPD Traffic Collision Team is handling the accident's investigation and its members are actively looking into all leads and contacting witnesses, said police Sgt. spokesman Clinton Tada.

Tada encouraged anyone that was in the area at the time of the incident to contact the LGMS police Sgt. Stephen Walpole at 408-354-8600 if they have information related to the accident.

Niraj Sharma, a physician who lives in Boston, emailed Los Gatos Patch this week inquiring about the woman's condition after he rushed out to help her just minutes after the crash.

Sharma said he was driving with a friend on Saratoga-Los Gatos Road, also called Highway 9, when they arrived on the scene "less than a minute" after it occurred and he assisted the woman.

Sharma said he didn't see the accident but "the image of her has remained with me," he said.

Sharma returned to Boston on Monday and saw Los Gatos Patch's first story about the accident and wondered about the woman's condition.
