Los Gatos Arson Victim Doubles Reward to $20K

Police and fire Investigators said Thursday they have uncovered information that leads them to believe that the perpetrator may be a young adult or teenager.

The Los Gatos arson victim whose in less than three months earlier this year in the upscale Vista Del Monte neighborhood has doubled the monetary reward into finding those guilty of the crime making it $20,000.

The crimes took place on Oct. 28, 2011 and Jan. 12, 2012 and have remained unresolved by Santa Clara County Fire investigators and local police who are actively investigating the case.

Investigators have uncovered information that leads them to believe that the perpetrator may be a young adult or teenager or that young adults or teenagers may know his or her identity, the release stated.

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Chief Scott Seaman said he hoped the increased reward and media attention would cause local parents to have a discussion with their teenagers about the case. "Someone has information about this crime and we need them to come forward," the chief said.

The Santa Clara County Fire Department had offered in a $10,000 reward after the January incident. However, on Friday, April 20, Britt's family agreed to match the reward bringing the total to $20,000.
