Drug Charges in Los Gatos Arrest

Boulder Creek man busted in unincorporated part of town on suspicion of multiple misdemeanor and felony crimes.

Boulder Creek resident Richard Ashford, 42, was arrested by Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies the evening of Sunday, April 22 in Los Gatos on suspicion of multiple misdemeanor and felony crimes.

According to sheriff's reports, Ashford was apprehended at 6:30 p.m. that day at 19100 Bear Creek Road in Los Gatos.

He was charged with one felony related to possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor related to possession of a hypodermic needle or syringe without a prescription, which is a violation of the California Business and Professions Code, according to sheriff's reports.

Ashford was booked into Santa Clara County Jail and his bail was set at $27,000.

He was also charged with various vehicle code violations related to driving with privileges suspended or revoked, not yielding the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a marked crosswalk, failing to provide financial responsibility for his vehicle, expired vehicle registration and failure to appear.

Ashford was also arrested on a misdemeanor related to failure to appear in court after being charged with a misdemeanor and being released from custody on his own recognizance.
