Updated: Northbound Highway 17 in Los Gatos Open After Injury Accident

Two people were ejected and one person was pinned under a car in the early Wednesday afternoon crash near Summit Road, according to the CHP.

Update: 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20: Northbound Highway 17 at Summit Road has been reopened after a two-car crash sent four people to the hospital, two with serious injuries, according to the CHP.

Northbound state Highway 17 is shut down at Summit Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains after two people were ejected and one person was pinned under a car in an accident, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both northbound lanes of the highway were shut down at Summit as of about 2:20 p.m. and were expected to remain closed until about 3:15 p.m., according to the CHP.

A CHP patrol car was first dispatched to the scene at about 1:15 p.m. after a car went off the highway, the CHP reported.

Two people inside were ejected and one was trapped beneath the vehicle, according to the CHP.

A tow truck was dispatched with a 200-foot cable to assist emergency responders at the scene, according to the CHP.
