Gilroy Man Arrested, Accused of Elderly Wife's Murder; Second Suspect Still At Large

Gilroy police have arrested a man suspected of killing his wife in April and are looking for the second suspect in the murder, a police sergeant said.

German Baldeon, 68, of Gilroy was arrested during a search warrant served in the 1400 block of Bristlecone Court on Thursday, Sgt. Wes Stanford said.

Baldeon was suspected of murdering his wife, 74-year-old Doris Mae Knapp of Gilroy on April 1, police said.

Kanpp was found suffering from severe upper body trauma inside her home in the 1400 block of Bristlecone Court where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

On Thursday, Gilroy police also served a search warrant for 59-year-old David Galvez in the 300 block of Portico Court in Tracy but were unable to find him, Stanford said. (To see wanted poster, click here.)

Galvez remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 220 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes, police said.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911. Thursday's search warrants were served with the assistance of the REACH High Tech Crimes Task Force and Tracy Police Department, he said.

Baldeon and Galvez were each charged for the homicide by the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office earlier this week, Stanford said.
