UPDATE: Hwy 17 in Los Gatos Cleared After Car Fire

Sig-alert issued at 2 a.m.

UPDATED: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16, 3:30 a.m.

All southbound lanes of state Highway 17 in Los Gatos have reopened after a fiery car blocked traffic for more than an hour this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire was reported on southbound Highway 17, just south of the state Highway 9 off-ramp, at about 1:30 a.m., CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
A Sig-alert was issued at 2:07 a.m.
  
One lane was reopened about 15 minutes later and the Sig-alert was canceled when the car was cleared from the roadway around 3:10 a.m., according to the CHP.
  
 No one was injured in the blaze, Caggiano said.

One lane of southbound state Highway 17 in Los Gatos is blocked this morning due to a car fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

 The fire was reported on southbound Highway 17, just south of the state Highway 9 off-ramp, at about 1:30 a.m., CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 2:07 a.m. Both southbound lanes were blocked for about 15 minutes but one lane has since reopened, according to Caggiano.

There is no estimated time the roadway will be cleared.
