DUI Suspect Shuts Down Old Santa Cruz Highway
Gasoline spilled from the driver's pickup truck caused the southbound side of the roadway near Holy City Road to be closed for nearly an hour and a half Friday night.
A man who was reportedly driving recklessly before crashing and turning over his vehicle on southbound Old Santa Cruz Highway was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday night.
The incident took place around 10 p.m. near Holy City Road. Shortly after crashing, the man’s white pickup truck began spilling gasoline onto the roadway, creating a hazard.
Firefighters who responded to the scene called the California Highway Patrol for assistance in directing traffic so that the fuel could be cleaned up, according the San Jose Mercury News.

The roadway was reopened around 11:20 p.m. There were no injuries.
The arrest comes off a Memorial Day weekend . Four of those arrests were made in Los Gatos.
