Dogs Beaten During Stagecoach Road Burglary in Los Gatos Mountains

Residents are asked to be on the lookout for three African American suspects who stole computers, cameras and jewelry after attacking the animals.

Dogs were beaten and several valuable items were stolen during a violent burglary the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 27 at the end of Stagecoach Road in the Los Gatos Mountains, neighbors on the 95033talk Yahoo group are reporting.

According to the original post to the group's online forum, made Tuesday, Oct. 1, three African American males stole all of the residence's computers, cameras and jewelry after they "kicked, hit and traumatized" the renter's two dogs.

The information was confirmed to Los Gatos Patch this morning by the victim, who wishes to remain anonymous.

The suspects, one adult and two teenagers, are said to have escaped in a gold, silver, or bronze sedan with a partial license plate number of KWS330.

The adult suspect, who was wearing a dark baseball cap, is said to have been in car waiting for the younger burglars. He was parked across from the property's mailbox.

The two younger suspects were inside committing the crime, according to the neighbor who posted the information.

The incident has been reported to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office and the resident wrote that the information was being shared to make the community aware of the crime and be on the lookout for the suspects.

The burglarized property contains two dwellings. While the upstairs' residents left to pick up their children from school, the burglars broke into the downstairs' residence, hurting the animals and committing the crime, the neighbor said.

Once the burglars realized they could not gain entry upstairs from the bottom floor, they attempted to gain entry by breaking an upstairs' window in the driveway, the neighbor wrote.

At that moment, the upstairs' residents arrived home scaring off the burglars, the neighbor added in the post.

One of the teenagers has braids, the neighbor said.

"While we do not want to be paranoid in our own community, we should always be aware. Please be on the look out for the car," the neighbor urged.

The victim said the neighbor who posted the information on the 95033talk Yahoo group had copied her email to the Riva Ridge Homeowners Association alerting them about the crime.

"I've lived up here my entire life," the victim said. "My two Boston Terriers were kicked, marked and traumatized."

The victim said all electronic items in the home were taken, including her cameras and her deceased mother's jewelry. Property stolen during the crime has an estimated value of $10,000, she said.

"Please lock your doors. It's not something that this community really does. We've been here for so long and crime doesn't really happen like this here, but I'm urging my neighbors to lock their doors," the victim said.
