Criminal Acts: Stolen Bikes, Vandalism and Residential Burglaries

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from July 16 through Sunday, from car accidents to thefts to vandalism. Here’s a selection from the latest press report.

Auto Burglary

  • 3:00 a.m.—The rear driver side window of a vehicle was smashed and the unknown suspect reached in and removed a visible ipad.
  • 11:0 p.m. —An unknown suspect stole two bikes and a DJ system from the back of the victim's truck.

Found Property

  • 6:20 p.m.—A women's pink Schwinn cruiser was taken from the 7500 block of Chestnut St. The bike was not secured during the theft.


  • 9:00 p.m.—A 19-year-old woman was punched in the mouth by her 16-year-old brother. The victim requested prosecution.


  • 1:43 p.m.—A female victim lost her debit card, which was found by an unknown person who made two purchases at different locations without her consent.
  • 10:30 a.m. —A suspect used a vicitm's credit card for a $733.34 transaction in Tijuana, Mexico. The debit card was accounted for and the suspect is unknown.

Stolen Vehicle

  • 8:50 a.m. —A suspect broke into a business and took keys to cars in a parking lot. The suspect then stole a van.
  • 2:15 p.m.—A vehicle was stolen from the Nob Hill parking lot.


  • 9:02 p.m.—An unkown suspect attempted to cut his way into two coin-operated washing machines.
  • 11:00 p.m. —Several tires were punctured in the 1300 block of Pheasant Drive.
  • 2:28 p.m. —A minor was shooting at a street light with a BB gun. There was noticable damage to the street light.


  • 12:10 a.m.—Unknown suspects entered a residence under permission of victim and stole several items. A second victim located the suspects approximately 20 minutes later when they returned to the parking lot of the apartment complex and confronted them. The male suspect brandished a knife at the second victim and left the area.
  • 9:40 a.m.—A victim put his gym bag into a locker while he took a shower. When the victim returned, his locker was open and the gym bag was gone.
  • 3:45 p.m.—Two suspects took items valued at $85.87 from a store without paying. They were detained by loss prevention and were cited and released at the scene.
  • 6:50 p.m.—Three suspects entered a Walmart and stole cosmetic items valued at $160.48. All three were cited and released at the scene.


  • 11:10 p.m.—A male juvenile was arrested for possession of marijuana for sales.

Hit and Run

  • 2:25 a.m.—A female driver was leaving a bar on Monterey Street. The driver backed into a parked vehicle and then fled the scene. The driver was located on Monterey Street and arrested hit and run and driving under the influence.

Public Intoxication

  • 6:50 p.m.—Arrestee was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.

Residential Burglary

  • 4:22 a.m.—Unknown suspects broke into a residence on Forest Street, took a shower and ate food.
