Coroner Needs Help Identifying Jane Doe Homicide Victim

Woman who went by the name of Gail was murdered Aug. 13, 2012 in San Jose; she's believed to have been 60 years old at the time of her death.

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is seeking the public's assistance in the identification of Jane Doe, a homicide victim who lacks confirmed information about who she is.

The woman was murdered on Aug 13, 2012 in front of the Walgreen Store, 1399 W. San Carlos Street in San Jose.

The victim is described as a 60-year-old female who went by the name of Gail, according to the Coroner's Office.

The last name she had provided to police, Valley Medical Center and general public was Hayden. However, the Coroner's Office has not been able to confirm that information as the her last name.

The woman didn't have a California driver's license, or ID, and had never been arrested, the Coroner said in a press release.

The victim also spoke with a New York state accent (she was possibly born in New York), was homeless, and for years lived in the area where she was murdered, according to the Coroner.

If anyone knows her last name or any additional information that can lead to her identification please contact the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office at 408-793-1900.
