Three women were injured after their car went up a dirt embankment and overturned on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway
Patrol.

The women, all 18 years old, were in a 1999 GMC Suburban traveling south on State Highway 17 south of Hermon Road around 12:50 p.m., the CHP
said.

The driver of the Suburban lost control of the vehicle and drove up a dirt embankment where it overturned, according to the CHP.

The driver sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Valley Medical Center, the CHP said.

One of the passengers was transported for moderate injuries and another passenger with minor injuries was released at the scene to seek her own medical aid, according to the CHP.

All the women were wearing seatbelts during the collision, the CHP said.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors, according to the CHP.
