A high school student from Mountain View was found unresponsive Tuesday on the Stevens Creek Trail from a suspected drug overdose and transported to a local hospital, according to the Mountain View Police Department.
The MV police are investigating the incident, along with the Santa Clara County Public Health, the Mountain View Los Altos High School District and local hospitals to identify similar incidents and trends.
The suspected drug used by the student was possibly “DOC” (2,5-Dimethoxy-ChloroAmphetamine) -- a fairly new psychedelic street drug, similar to LSD, and is a combination of hallucinogenic and amphetamine chemicals, police said.
The drug has long-lasting effects and is considered extremely dangerous. Signs and symptoms vary depending on the individual, however, if anyone suspects they have ingested “DOC,” immediately call 911.
Authorities are not releasing any additional information related to the identity of the student, the specific school or medical information.
