Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes Car Into Sign in Monte Sereno
Location of crash is close to Daves Avenue Elementary School.
A driver suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol crashed his car Monday afternoon at the intersection of Daves Avenue and Winchester Boulevard in Monte Sereno.
According to a Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police report, the driver, identified as Roberto Martin Ortega, 24, struck a curb and a sign at the intersection at 5:58 p.m.
A witness observed Ortega plow his vehicle into the structures, which are close to Daves Avenue Elementary School. Fortunately the driver didn't suffer any injuries, but the vehicle was disabled, the police report said.
Ortega was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of DUI, which caused the accident.
