5 DUI Arrests In Los Gatos During Holidays

Number of DUI arrests in town dropped this past holiday season, according to police.

Los Gatos Monte Sereno police arrested five people for driving under the influence during the holiday season.

The drunk-driving crackdown involved the department's patrol division and used extra officers during a few evenings, said LGMS police Sgt. spokesman Clinton Tada.

Three of the five DUI arrests occurred in the downtown area and one involved a collision where the driver was determined to be intoxicated, Sgt. Tada said.

The number is down from last year when police reported 10 DUI arrests in Los Gatos.

Of the 10 DUI arrests last year, four were DUI collisions, Sgt. Tada said.

The enforcement period began Dec. 13, 2013 and ended Jan. 1, 2014, Sgt. Tada added.
