As the 49ers Faithful query goes, “Who’s got it better than us?” And the answer in 2013 is NOBODY.

For who else (except perhaps Ravens fans), will derive as much pleasure from viewing the actual Super Bowl XLVII game, AND the watching the much-anticipated advertisements at the break?

And for the first time ever, Super Bowl viewers are getting a sneak peak at the soon-to-be famous television commercials.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Super Bowl advertisers no longer are keeping spots a secret until the Big Game. You can find video trailers of ads for advertisers such as Kraft, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen on various media websites.

And since we get the best of both worlds this year---cheering for a team we really care about and enjoying the creativity of advertising at its best (hopefully)--we thought it might be fun to look back at some of our favorite commercials from years past.

A non-scientific poll of Patch editors showed that Apple’s “1984” was the most popular, followed by Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl, and of course, the Budweiser horses (and frogs) scored big. There were a few old-school votes for Coke’s Mean Joe Green, and even though last year’s ad featuring David Beckham in his underwear only got one vote by Mountan View Patch editor Claudia Cruz, Cruz says she can watch it over and over. (A blog on Huffington Post confirms that underwear ads are quite popular in general.)

Think back to Super Bowls past and the commercials that made you not get up to go to the kitchen, the bathroom or switch to “Antiques Road Show.”

Go Niners!  Go Budweiser (Taco Bell ... eTrade ... Hyundai ... .)!
