Principal Markus Autrey's Kiss-A-Senior-Goodbye Note

The following was written by Los Gatos High School principal Markus Autrey for the graduating Class of 2012.

It has been four years that each of you in your own unique way has developed, changed and grown into fine young men and women.

You have impressed me so much and it's a privilege to have been a part of your journey. Really, from little freshmen that could not keep their hands to themselves, to graduates who are successful, poised and ready for the next step.

I just want to say there's nothing more special than you, than each and every one of you.

More than anything you've learned, more than any piece of information, more than any project design or grade you've received, please know that you are unique and special and that your uniqueness will make a difference in the world.

Be true to yourself. Be kind to one another. Embrace people and don't judge them. Who you are, I have to say, as cliche as it is, is perfect for what you're going to do. Keep learning, keep growing, focus on helping others and you'll make a difference. You have made a difference to me. I believe you've made a difference to all the folks to my right and for that I really sincerely want to thank you.

Oh, by the way, you really all need to have a sense of humor. You're going to need it. Life is pretty humbling. It is. So, I say thank you. Best of luck to the Class of 2012. You will be missed.
