A Heartfelt Thank You

To celebrate today, I'll be spending most of the day partying at in the company of the entire Silicon Valley Patch team, a total of 13 local editors led by our regional Patch Editor Priyanka Sharma-Sindhar.

My reason for being there is two-fold. Our team will be celebrating the holidays, but this faithful editor of yours will be counting her many blessings and appreciating having an audience like you on the site.

Patch hired me to become your local editor on Nov. 8, 2010. The  has always been special for me. It was the place where my son was born—Good Sam Hospital right on the San Jose-Los Gatos border—and our destination for many romantic dinners after the birth of our third child.

Today, I'm thankful for you, our valued readers, for helping me grow this site into what I consider one of the best places to get the news about everything that's happening in Los Gatos.

I'm also grateful for the many writers and contributors who have supported me with this effort, pre- and post-launch.

I attribute our success to the high level of engagement in this community. Whether it's young families with children in our local schools, or seniors who live at The or the singles who like to use the site to keep up with the town, this site would not be as strong as it is without your support and feedback.

Please keep that feedback coming. We want to know where else we can serve.  local organizations. We continue to grow our directory to have every organization in town represented in it. This site is about you and for you. So please let me hear from you —either by blogging on the site or sending in letters-to-the-editor. You could also choose to be a commenter and tell me where you stand on various issues, or a citizen journalist helping me report and write about this unique and one-of-a-kind town. 

I'll be at Enoteca from 11 until about 3 p.m. today. I would love it if you stopped by to say hello. I'll have some Patch swag to give away as we celebrate. We're starting to organize an anniversary party that we hope the entire town can attend. I'll share the details on the site as soon as we finalize our plans.
