Bill Blackwell, a.k.a. Willie Glen Carlos Blackwell and “The Worlds Most Caring Creole,” left us on Oct. 21, 2012 after a long life filled with love, happiness, honor and an abundance of joy. He was 92.

Born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana, Bill spent most of his adult life in Los Gatos and later resided in Ripon, CA with his loving wife, Jerry Rochelle Blackwell.

Bill studied engineering at Louisiana State University and graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in marketing.

He served in the military as a pilot, stationed at the Hickam Air Force Base in Oahu, Hawaii.

He had a long and successful career in downtown Los Gatos at Little Village Real Estate as a broker.

His philanthropic endeavors included his longtime devotion to the Lions Club of Los Gatos.

He was an avid sailor, fisherman, skier and had a knack for filling a room with laughter.

Bill’s kind heart and generosity will be in his family’s thoughts forever.

He is survived by his wife Jerry Blackwell; his daughters Sandie and Susie Blackwell; his step children Tom and Mike Allen, Judy O’Neill and her husband, Rick O’Neill; his grandchildren Jenna and Patrick O’Neill; Patrick’s Wife, Amy O’Neill and his great-grandchild, Ryker Jacob.

Bill lived by his favorite quote: “Today is the first day of the rest of your life.”
