Ron Barrans, former teacher at Los Gatos High School, died on Nov. 14, 2012 at the age of 80. He passed away after a long struggle with skin cancer.
Ron was married for 43 years and has two daughters and six grandchildren who all live in San Jose.
His wife and daughters were with Ron in the last hours of his passing.
Ron taught Latin, computer science, art, and English before retiring in 1993 after 25 years of teaching at Los Gatos High School.
Ron was a dedicated teacher for a total of 40 years and helped many of his students in their pursuits for higher education.
His wife Rebecca remembers Ron devoting weekend hours tailoring just the right letter of recommendation for specific students whom he referred to as scholars.
