Los Gatos Death Notice: Korean War Veteran Daniel Thomas Buist

Former U.S. Navy serviceman was on active duty during the Korean War and had a successful career in the electronics industry.

Los Gatos resident Daniel Thomas Buist was born in Los Angeles on June 27, 1928.

He died Oct. 22, 2013 with his family by his side. He was 85.

Daniel served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

His career was in the electronic industry, joining companies such as Texas Instruments and Motorola, retiring after 15 years with Fujitsu Semiconductor America, Inc.

He was married to Anne for 61 years. They have two lovely daughters, Donna (Scott), Allison (Mark) and grandson Daniel.

The family extends special thanks to Heartland Hospice.

Inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 14 in the veterans' section of Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Drive in Los Altos.
