1. Do you own an e-reader and are tired of buying all your e-books? Come to the Los Gatos Library at 6:30 p.m., today, Dec. 19 and get your e-books for free! Join one of three groups offering e-reader specific instruction and get the most relevant information to you about your device. Instruction groups deal with the Kindle, iPad, iPhone, Android, Nook, Sony and Kobo. All are welcome to attend this free event.  Bring your questions and your devices. Details: adult reference desk, 408-354-6896.

2. The Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation 55-Plus Program sponsors a free Mountain Program Holiday Party and Gift Exchange, at 10:15 a.m. Participants will meet at the Loma Prieta Community Center at 10:15 and carpool to “Hazlwood” and the home of Robert and Barbara Knipe, for a pre-holiday celebration potluck. The Knipes have transformed their property into an almost dream-like event center. For the potluck, plates, napkins, utensils, cups, drinks, and cold-cut platter will be provided. Participants are invited to bring either salad or dessert—and a gift (no more than $5) to exchange. Details: Lynnette Vega, 650-747-0605, or
email lahondalynnette@earthlink.net.

3. The Los Gatos Town Council will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Town Hall's Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St., that will be broadcast live on KCAT, Channel 15. Details: 408-354-6832.
