Last Chance: Las Palomas Luncheon, Park Clean-Up And Cat's Hill Classic

Up and coming event deadlines for a must-attend charity luncheon today and a community park clean-up, school garage sale and a major bicycle racing event this Saturday, May 5.

, and the Town of Los Gatos will be participating this Saturday, May 5, at 10 a.m., in a community park clean-up day. The service club and town officials are inviting the public to help beautify Live Oak Manor Park, Oak Meadow Park, or Charter Oaks Park. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 9:45 a.m. and bring gloves and gardening tools to do some creek cleaning, weeding, planting and trash collecting until about noon, when the activity is expected to end. CAT'S HILL CLASSIC

Hundreds of bicycle racers will take on the challenging 328-foot-long/100-meter Nicholson Avenue hill—Cat's Hill to locals—this Saturday, May 5 during the 39th annual race in the Almond Grove historic district. The all-day event, which begins at 8:30 a.m., is presented by the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club and its title sponsor is Proceeds benefit the LGBRC's bicycle race-training programs for adults and children, and also the Los Gatos High School Marching Band. ctwiggs@gmail.com, or register for the event by clicking here.
