The deadline to apply to be a part of the Leadership Los Gatos 2012-13 class is Aug. 31. The program gives individuals the opportunity to train for leadership roles in community organizations. In cooperation with the Town of Los Gatos, the runs Leadership Los Gatos. Jill’s Ride for Hope 2012, a ride/run/walk event returns 7 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25 at Los Gatos High School's front lawn, 20 High School Ct. The event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Counseling and Support Services for Youth, or CASSY program at LGHS. Please register at jillsrideforhope.com. Participants can register for a 5K, 40K or 100K and the event is open to all
ages. Registration fee varies from $18-$35 youth/$55 adults.
The 25th annual Music in the Park free summer outdoor concert series ends this Sunday, Aug. 26, 5-7 p.m., in the Los Gatos Civic Center Lawn, 110 E. Main St., a fixture of the Los Gatos summer scene. Performing will be Latin jazz legend Pete Escovedo.
