Hwy 17 Construction Begins at Summit Rd

Caltrans building drainage systems and resurfacing roadway between Summit Road and Bear Creek Road.

The California Department of Transportation, or Caltrans, is reporting Monday morning it's begun construction of drainage systems and is resurfacing the roadway along Highway 17 between Summit Road and Bear Creek Road.

Work has also begun to grind and repave the section of Highway 17 between highways 9 and 85.

Both north and southbound lanes will be repaved, as well as a dozen on and off-ramps.

Additionally Caltrans will work is constructing retaining walls and concrete barriers near Scotts Valley just north of Santas Village to Crescent Drive.

Harris back then said the department's records unit need time to research just how many of these sex crimes had been reported to police. I'll check with the district.
