Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes: A Must-Attend Summertime Festival

Town's only wine and art festival returns for 40th-year anniversary Aug. 13-14.

What better way to celebrate summer than to attend a great art and wine festival? Well, you are in luck. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13-14 are the dates to save for the 40th annual Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes, Los Gatos’ only art and wine festival. It all takes place on the Civic Center grounds at 110 E. Main St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., both days.

And it’s a lot more than just art and wine! A total of 150 artists, artisans, vintners and brewmasters will be showcasing their best efforts. Delicious food, great original art, live music and all the artisanal wine and beer you could want. The perfect combination for a fun weekend.

This year to add to the festivities, a special invitation has gone out to the participants in the Los Gatos Dammit Run on Saturday, Aug. 13, to make the Fiesta their “after-the-run” celebration site.

You can thank the Los Gatos Kiwanis Club for sponsoring this wonderful party as it has for the past 15 years. When you buy a glass of wine don’t forget to get your own custom-designed commemorative wine glass from the Kiwanis Club to benefit local charities. If you are interested in helping with a charitable donation to this community effort visit the Fiesta de Artes Web site and click on “See how you can help out.”

I don’t know about you, but my idea of a perfect Saturday or Sunday summer day is strolling outdoors under the trees checking out all the new art, a snack in one hand, and a glass of chilled local wine in the other with some great live music going on in the background. Join me?
