Trick-or-Treating in Los Gatos!

The Halloween fun begins way before Thursday, Oct. 31, but there will be school costume parades, and the ritual of asking for candy all over town, including Blossom Manor neighborhood, downtown and Tait Avenue.

As soon as the bell rings at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, most Los Gatos Union School District children will begin the annual ritual of going home to get ready to go trick-or-treating to celebrate Halloween.

Prior to the evening festivities, which most parents begin at around 4 or 5 p.m. for younger children, many schools will have the traditional Halloween costume parades, according to district officials.

The entire student body at Blossom Hill Elementary School, for example, will parade around 1 p.m. at The Terraces of Los Gatos senior living community.

After hitting the area around downtown, some stores give away candy in the central commercial district along North Santa Cruz Avenue, many children will then visit the popular Blossom Manor neighborhood located behind Los Gatos Boulevard.

The Blossom Manor neighborhood is found in east Los Gatos, bordered by Blossom Hill Road, Los Gatos Boulevard, Los Gatos Almaden Road and Longwood Drive.

Tait Avenue will close off in the downtown area 5:30-8:30 p.m., for Fright Night to allow for hundreds of revelers the chance to trick-or-treat safely and enjoy other shows put on by the neighborhood.

Trick-or-treating will go on until about 8:30 p.m. for younger children and later for older kids.
