Halloween in Los Gatos 'Blurred Lines' Style!

Thousands pack popular Tait Avenue to watch Kathy Koga and partner Don Fox perform mini flash mob combo of hit dance songs.

Everybody get up ... hey, hey, hey ... It's Halloween in Los Gatos "Blurred Lines" style thanks to Tait Avenue residents Kathy Koga, partner Don Fox and four other friends.

"It's really fun," said Koga Thursday night, taking a break in between dancing mini flash mob combo sets performed on a stage in front of her 223 Tait Ave. home while an anxious crowd waited for the next performance.

The show's theme this year was "Grim Reapers Rave" and the dancers' faces were covered with skeleton masks and neon glow-in-the-dark pink, green and orange costumes which radiated vibrantly under black lights.

Performing this year with Koga and Fox were Ray Klopp, Jennifer Hunter, April Reynolds and Kate Jacobi.

Koga said they picked Canadian-American recording artist Robin Thicke's No. 1 hit this year due to its popularity.

The group was also performing Michael Jackson's Thriller, as it did last year and the year before.

"Now everybody expects us to do two songs," Koga said. "We all learned a second dance. We've done Thriller now for about five years."

In 2012, Koga and Fox delighted the crowds with their rendition of South Korean pop artist PSY's catchy tune Gangnam Style.

San Jose resident Leyla Amina, her husband and 7-year-old daughter got a great front-row view of the show tonight and said she always comes to Los Gatos to celebrate Halloween and enjoy the Tait Avenue festivities.

"I love it here," Amina said. "This community really knows how to celebrate such a great family oriented event."

Tait Avenue was packed Halloween Night, some sections of the busy avenue standing-room only.

Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police officers Leyton Howard, Mario Carrizosa and Glen Young provided crowd control and said revelers were behaving well with no major incidents to report.

Trick-or-treating was happening from Main Street to Bachman Avenue. The Avenue was once again shut down to traffic 5:30-8:30 p.m.

As they did last year, Fox and Koga gave away more than 3,000 pieces of candy to all the pirates, ghosts, fairies, ninjas, princesses, cats, witches and other unholy creatures that stopped by their house to see the performance.
