St. Mary's Students Donate Hygiene Products, Food to Area Needy

Hygiene items such as toothbrushes, combs, razors and canned goods will help the less fortunate.

St. Mary's School's nearly 300 students will present much-needed hygiene products to area homeless and needy populations on Thanksgiving, school officials said.

The students will be donating toothbrushes, gloves, Kleenex, razors, and combs to Saint Luke's food pantry program Thursday, Nov. 28.

Saint Luke's Episcopal Church runs the program, which serves destitute individuals in the Los Gatos and West Valley area.

The pantry is open in the Saint Luke's parish hall on University Avenue in downtown Los Gatos Tuesday mornings to provide food, companionship and clothing to the less fortunate.

Also, St. Mary's kindergarten, first- and second-grade classes have collected more than 1,500 non-perishable canned goods to help fill the Thanksgiving baskets of those served by the St. Vincent De Paul Conference parish.

The items were donated to a St. Vincent representative during a school assembly last week.
