The Time is Now - Gun Violence Prevention, Speakers and Film

Join us for this incredible program bringing light to the ramifications of gun violence. Our first speaker is Mindy Finkelstein, who was a camp counselor and a survivor of the shooting at the JCC in Granada Hills, CA in 1999. Mindy spoke at the recent URJ Biennial in San Diego during Friday night services, touching many hearts. The other two speakers are Shikha Hamilton, an attorney and the California campaign manager for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and Aaron Nayfack,  MD, MPH, who is a Developmental Behavior Pediatrician at SCVMC and will speak to the public health issues.

The film, Living for 32, is an inspiration story of a survivor of the Virgina Tech massacre and his optimism and personal crusade to address the issue of gun safety in our nation. We will also speak about steps that can be taken to protect our children and communities.

Refreshments and Advocacy information will follow the program.
