HOW PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE MADE

This seminar will teach you the legal, economic and technical aspects of the complex and highly interrelated activities involved in bringing a pharmaceutical drug from discovery to human clinical testing to final FDA approval. Learn why it is estimated to cost up to one billion dollars to get a drug to market, why drugs are sometimes taken off the market and other important steps in the process of developing and approving drugs for important diseases like cancer and inflammatory diseases. The information will be presented in simple terms to make it easy to understand. Our speaker is Dr. Anne Ferguson, a scientist who has more than 20 years of experience. Refreshments will be served.
