The Story of Tea

Starting Friday evenings in January, Ana and Gideon Enz will be guiding a group into the world of tea. A world both ancient and modern, from the prehistoric origins of camellia sinensis to the treacherous tea horse road, tea has a history so rich you can taste it. Here you can sample everything from delicate Japanese green teas to robust Russian caravan all the while learning the myths and traditional uses of tea in Oriental medicine. Immortal elixirs, purple clay, scary fragrance tea, phytonutrients, epigallocatechin gallate, this class has it all. There will even be an entire evening devoted to the subtleties of tea tasting; like sommeliers, the discerning tea drinker pays attention to the tea texture, color, taste, aftertaste, and more… There is so much to tea and the enjoyment of it that The Story of Tea will continue until the end of March, but it will only take one evening to get you hooked. Come join us and discover just why tea is the world’s most popular beverage!
