Dr. Ann Waltonsmith will be honored as 2012 Citizen of the Year and Bill and Doris Cooper honored as 2012 Business Person's of the Year at a dinner on November 14. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Union Bank, the dinner will take place at the Saratoga Foothill Club at 6:00 PM.
The announcement of the awards was made on September 16 during Celebrate Saratoga by Mayor Chuck Page and Chamber of Commerce President Debra Cummins. Waltonsmith, a three-time mayor, was noted as using her leadership skills through public office and volunteering. The three were selected by a committee of peers and past recipients of the award.
According to Saratoga Chamber of Commerce President Debra Cummins, "It is very exciting to recognize the contributions of these people. Their work symbolizes the volunteerism for which Saratoga is known. This will be a lovely evening with many of the past recipients also attending."
