LOS GATOS FOOTBALL

The Los Gatos High School varsity football team. a.k.a. the Wildcats, the No. 2 seed with a 6-4 record, open the Central Coast Section Division II playoffs with a home game at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Helm Field, 20 High School Court. The Cats are playing against the Pioneer High School Mustangs. The home field advantage was earned last Friday, when the Cats beat the Saratoga High School Falcons by a 28-10 score.

THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON

The Los Gatos-Saratoga 55-Plus Program invites older adults to a free Thanksgiving luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center, 208 E. Main St. The feast is presented in partnership with C.B. Hannegan’s and the Los Gatos Lions Club. Door prizes will be offered. Please bring canned good items to be donated to St. Luke's Episcopal Church's pantry, which feeds the local homeless population. Reserve your space by calling 408-354-1514.

FAMILY ART DAY

Families are invited to the Los Gatos Art Museum's exhibition "It’s Personal: Stories Visualized by Asian American Women Artists" noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 4 Tait Ave. The exposition documents a vignette of Asian American women artists that represent the confluence of the past and future with work that is relevant and approachable. The exhibition, curated by Linda Inson Choy, showcases the works of Susan Almazol, Jungran Bae, Reiko Fujii, Kay Kang, Pallavi Sharma, Cynthia Tom and Maggie Yee. Details: 408-395-7386.

PASSPORT DAY IN SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS

Don't miss Passport Day in the Santa Cruz Mountains 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at most area wineries! What better way to enjoy the splendid autumnal foliage in the vineyards than to grab your best pals, pocket your Passport, $45 at the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association's website, and venture off into the sunny hills where Pinot and Chardonnay beckon around every corner. Have a suggestion for you -- Los Gatos Field Hockey in the CCS Championships Saturday morning; 11 am at Cupertino High School. Guaranteed good watching!!

I would also recommend folks come to cheer on about 50 Los Gatos and Saratoga teens package 10,000 meals for Stop Hunger Now. Their goal is to package 285,000 before the end of the year! It is on Saturday (11/17) from 10am - 12pm at Los Gatos United Methodist Church in the Social Hall!
