Los Gatos Halloween 2012 Events

Busy town on Oct. 31 with lots of wonderful opportunities for young, old and in between to have some spooktacular fun!

BLOSSOM HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HALLOWEEN PARADE:  Annual tradition continues with school children marching to the Terraces of Los Gatos 10:45-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 beginning at the Cherry Blossom gate. Details: 408-335-2100.

THRILLER ON TAIT: Don Fox and partner Kathy Koga will once again become zombies for Halloween this year and with the help of friends will re-enact Michael Jackson's Thriller every 20 minutes on the hour, starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. at 223 Tait Ave. The street is the center stage for a Halloween multiple-block party. Trick-or-treat can be done from Main to Bachmann avenues. Details: kathykoga@gmail.com.

GOBLYNS GLEN: a fully interactive fun and creepy experience for children of all ages, but especially for the young ones, 12 and under, dusk to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 Halloween Day at Los Gatos Oak Meadow Park, 233 Blossom Hill Rd. General admission is $10, with kids under 2 being free. The event includes a train ride on the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad and a carousel ride to Halloween music. Globlyns Glen and Shadow Hills combined ticket is $21. The VIP ticket is $15 and allows you to bypass the general admission line. An unlimited pass is $35. SHADOW HILLS: The mansion opens a half hour after Goblyns Glen has escorted its last child out, with all new effects and scares and is NOT recommended for children or the faint of heart. The event is being held 9:30-11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 Halloween Night. Groups will be limited to four people, thereby guaranteeing a more intimate, intense experience for those brave enough. General admission is $13 and a combined Shadow Hills and Goblyns Glen ticket is $21. The VIP ticket is $17 and allows you to bypass the general admission line. An unlimited Shadow Hills pass is $22. OPERATION CARE AND COMFORT: is holding its annual "Trick or Treat for the Troops" candy drive Nov. 1-16. The organization has collection bins set up at Raymond J. Fisher Middle School, Los Gatos Library, Van Meter, Daves Avenue and Lexington elementary schools. Your leftover candy will be shipped during the holiday season to military personnel serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Please, no "body parts" or "eyeball" candy. WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE: A maze of 160 rooms and complicated and intricate thrilling passageways at 6:30 p.m.-midnight, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 525 So. Winchester Blvd. in San Jose. Tickets are between $40 and $45. Details: 408-247-2101.
