Heroes Run participants invited to stop by Deputy Sheriffs' Association booth for information and DSA items Nov. 9

Runners, walkers and spectators alike are invited to visit the Deputy Sheriffs' Association booth at the Heroes 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run set for Saturday, Nov. 9, from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The DSA is a presenting sponsor of the event.

The Heroes run, organized by the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in cooperation with the Office of the Sheriff, Santa Clara County, will benefit the pediatrics department at VMC. It starts at the Sheriffs' Office headquarters, at 155 West Hedding St. in San Jose and will cover the Guadalupe Trail.

"We'll have games and prizes at our booth," said Roger Winslow, vice president of the organization, which represents deputy sheriffs in the county. "We also have good information on bullying prevention, traffic enforcement and landlord-tenant relations," he remarked.

The 410-member association has a long history of charitable giving, including supplying equipment to the Sexual Assault Response Team at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
