Hospice of the Valley Adds a Touch of Elegance to the Old West with 'Western Soirée at the Villa' June 1

Soirée benefits organization’s renowned end-of-life services and programs for people living with serious illness and their families

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 20, 2014 – Hospice of the Valley, a leading provider in palliative and hospice care, grief counseling and education in Northern California, will add a touch of elegance to the Old West on Sunday, June 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., when the nonprofit organization hosts its 34th annual “Western Soirée at the Villa” at the Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Road in Saratoga. Funds raised benefits Hospice of the Valley’s renowned services and programs for people living with serious illness and their families.

This year, Auctioneer Frank Sunseri will emcee the Soirée and live auction, while Jill Stein returns as Soirée event chair. In a special tribute, Jim and Anne Cashman will be honored for their combined 30 years of service to Hospice of the Valley.

The Western Soirée will be the last year that Hospice of the Valley will stage a western-themed event. As the organization bids farewell to the western theme, Soirée guests will have an opportunity to experience one of the evening’s highlights – a look back at the previous 33 years of western-themed tradition.

“A spectacular evening is planned for our soirée guests at the magnificent Montalvo Arts Center,” said Sally Adelus, president and CEO of Hospice of the Valley. “It will be a fun and memorable evening in this enchanting and historic setting.”

The “Western Soirée at the Villa” promises a fun experience for guests: 

·         A special VIP reception with exclusive wines and hors d'oeuvres. 

·         A gourmet dinner with fine wines at the iconic Villa Montalvo.

·         Guest speaker Maria Torry, M.D., will share her heartwarming, first-person account of how Hospice of the Valley served her family when they needed it the most. 

·         An unforgettable evening hosted by Master of Ceremonies Frank Sunseri. 

·         Live entertainment by Eagles tribute band Lyin’ I's.

·         Unique silent and live auction items. 

·         A final mosey down the memory trail with our old Western theme.

·         And even more surprises.
