What Should Go Here?

Los Gatos Patch wants to know what business you would like to see move into the old Chamber of Commerce spot.

Wow, it's been empty for almost nine months and there seems to be no sign of a possible lessee, according to its neighbors.

The former building, located at 349 No. Santa Cruz Ave., sits empty to this day.

The chamber left the premises in mid June to its new location at 10 Station Way, saying it needed extra space and a more centralized spot.

The property's neighbors are and Parking seems to be an issue for some businesses at the busy intersection of Los Gatos-Saratoga Road and North Santa Cruz Avenue.

A large sign on one of the building's windows lists Sound Investments Realty as the leasing company.

What do you think, Los Gatos? What should go in this spot?

Good suggestions, Amie Sue. I think a bookstore would be cool! Can't believe there isn't one in town. Thanks for the comment.

This is very bad situation. It was perfect for the Chamber as a destination location. Instead the Chamber took a fabulous retail location on Station way and converted it into office professional which is not legal to do without getting a conditional use permit. They had to do that for the space they just vacated. Goes to show the lack of ethics in our current government. Our town staff can be just plain old unethical when it comes to personal bias on their part. If it was mandatory for them to get a permit to turn a retail store into an office use years ago then it is still mandatory today as the regulations have not changed. Shame on you Town Manager for allowing your people to play political favors. This is your fault. Fess up to it and start acting like a town manager that enforces town regulations impartially.

How about a clothing and apparel store for teenagers. The town offers so many high end stores, but not a lot on the market for teens and prices that they can afford. There are also some really great consignment or swap stores for teenagers. My other thought, yes very different the the teen clothing store, is a local place to get Pho. Let entice a retailer in an area the market is not already saturated....
