What Happened to Los Gatos' Precious Objects Gallery?

Sign posted on business' former front window says jewelry store is closed during the remodel of the Los Gatos Theater.

"What happened to Precious Objects Gallery, 39½ No. Santa Cruz Ave.?" asked a Los Gatos Patch reader recently in an email, wanting to remain anonymous.

Well, we stopped by on Tuesday at the jewelry store's old location and found a notice taped to the inside of its front window explaining the business has been closed during the remodel of the Los Gatos Theater, 41 No. Santa Cruz Ave., but will "continue to serve our wonderful customers" with restyling, custom and special orders and repairs. The announcement then directs the public to email owner Miyuki at miyuki@preciousobjectsgallery.com for more information.

The cinema renovations, which are directly next to Mikuki's old business space, are expected to be completed sometime this summer, but it's not clear if POG will return to its former location or serve customers online only via appointment. Calls to Miyuki weren't immediately answered by the time of this posting.

POG's Facebook page was last updated April 14 with this message: "Thank you for the sweet notes of love and concerns! POG is doing fine, and so am I. : ) You will see more of POG pics from now on, I promise!"

On Feb. 24, Miyuki also posted on the page: "The last look of POG's window on February 14th. Thank you so very much for dear clients and friends who came over or sent me sweet notes. And I am very sorry for the very last minute announcement for my dear clients who couldn't make to POG. Though the store is closed for now, custom design, restyling, and the repair works are on going. : ) Please reach me out for an appointment. Yes! POG keeps going!!"

According to its website, POG has been offering unique fine jewelry in downtown Los Gatos since 1979.

Jeweler Miyuki brought her passion for gemstones and jewelry design to POG in 2008, according to the website.
