The Local Search Association has announced that Apple co-founder and Los Gatos resident Steve Wozniak will be the featured speaker at its 2014 conference April 27-29 in Huntington Beach.

A Silicon Valley and town icon and philanthropist for more than 30 years, Wozniak helped shape the computing industry by co-founding Apple Computer Inc. with Steve Jobs and designing Apple's first line of products, the Apple I and II, as well as influencing the development of the popular Macintosh.

"Steve Wozniak is one of the most influential technology pioneers of the modern era and a leading voice on driving innovation and ingenuity in our society," said Neg Norton, president of the Local Search Association. "Wozniak's insights on how changing digital and mobile technology will shape consumer purchasing behavior will be extremely beneficial to our attendees as they explore strategies for tackling the fast-growing, multi-billion dollar opportunity in local markets."

The 45-minute featured conversation with Wozniak will explore a variety of topics, including:

  • The founding of Apple Computer Inc.
  • The intersection of future technologies, including mobile and wearable devices, and local marketing opportunities for national and small- and medium-sized businesses
  • The defining characteristics of an entrepreneur, and the role of an entrepreneur within a large company
  • Ways to nurture creativity and innovation within organizations

The jam-packed three-day event will feature an agenda of exciting speakers and panelists from across the digital, mobile and print local advertising landscape, in sessions coordinated by Street Fight, Mobile Media Summit and other leading local media analysts.
