Spinello's Opens in Los Gatos!

New Italian East Coast-style eatery opened on Main Street on Nov. 20, 2013.

The small and quaint restaurant was developed by Michael Spinello, the former manager of Opa, 27 No. Santa Cruz Ave.

Its official opening was Nov. 20, 2013 and its ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Dec. 19, 2013.

Spinello is from New Jersey and has spent the last 15 years in California, where he noticed over the years the lack of East Coast style Italian food, the restaurant's website states.

All of the dishes at Spinello’s are from family recipes handed down over the years from Spinello's Italian relatives, the announcement said.

Popular Nick's on Main closed in early 2013 and Fromage & Specialties also moved out from its 33 E. Main St.

That left two next-door empty store fronts on the popular street.

Nick's on Main owner Nick Difu, who opened Nick's Next door in May of 2012 at the old Tapestry Bistro building at 11 College Ave., told his clients in February of 2013 that he was moving out of the East Main Street location because or a lease disagreement with the building's owners.
