The week-long event helps build a new customer base for restaurants while also thanking loyal customers with more affordable prices.

California Cafe in Los Gatos will charge $39 per person for a choice of strawbery and baby arugula fennel, goat cheese, pecans, white balsamic vinaigrette, poached shrimp cocktail and a Saint Andre cheese plate for the first course. For the second course, buttermilk marinated bottom sirloin, Moroccan-spiced half-roasted chicken or sun-dried tomato artichoke ravioli is offered. Patrons can choose sorbet trio or butterscotch bread pudding for dessert.

For those with exotic tastes, Indo Restaurant and Lounge in Palo Alto offers Indonesian options at $45 per person. For dessert, patrons can try coconut crème brulee, Kueh Nagasari, or lychee raspberry gelato.

The Los Gatos Brewing Company will be participating at both their Los Gatos and downtown San Jose locations. They are offering their house brew with the first course and the entrée.

According to the event website, Silicon Valley Restaurant Week is a way for eateries to thank local customers and for consumers to show their support for restaurants.

In addition to gorging themselves on all types of food, those interested can go online to enter to win a one-night weekend stay at Hotel Valencia in Santana Row.
