Update: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8: Rep. Paul Ryan participated this morning in a 30-minute Google+ Hangout inside building 40 at Mountain View Google headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway.
A Google representative, who identified himself as "Davis," apologized for not being able to give Patch access to Ryan during the event and said he was just visiting the campus to participate in the virtual meeting with constituents from several parts of the country.
"Unfortunately we're being told he doesn't have time," Davis said about asking the candidate if he could answer questions from the media either before or after the hangout.
Participants during the event, which seems to have lasted only about 16 minutes and attended by five people, were from various parts of the country with the moderator being in Boston, Davis said.
Following an early this morning, Rep. Paul Ryan will head over to the Mountain View Google headquarters building at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway for a Google+ Hangout.
The Republican vice presidential nominee will participate in the virtual video chat from inside the powerful worldwide corporation which provides Internet-related products and services.
According to Google spokeswoman Samantha Smith, Ryan is scheduled to begin the "Skype-type" of event at 2 p.m. EST, which is 11 a.m. PST. He will interact with so-called "victory centers," or campaign offices in Nevada, Wisconsin, Virginia, and Florida.
Later this afternoon, Ryan will head on over to Fresno for a fundraiser at the Convention Center there and on Thursday he campaigned in Los Angeles and then Sparks, NV.
Patch will try to catch Ryan as he's entering the Mountain View Google headquarters location.
