Paul Ryan to Participate in Google+ Hangout at Mountain View Headquarters

Virtual video chat with the Republican vice presidential nominee begins at 11 a.m. PST.

Update: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8: Rep. Paul Ryan participated this morning in a 30-minute Google+ Hangout inside building 40 at Mountain View Google headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway.

A Google representative, who identified himself as "Davis," apologized for not being able to give Patch access to Ryan during the event and said he was just visiting the campus to participate in the virtual meeting with constituents from several parts of the country.

"Unfortunately we're being told he doesn't have time," Davis said about asking the candidate if he could answer questions from the media either before or after the hangout.

Participants during the event, which seems to have lasted only about 16 minutes and attended by five people, were from various parts of the country with the moderator being in Boston, Davis said.

I'm just glad we have a real man with class in the white house . . . For now.

It would be a irresponsible to not call out Mr. Ryan as a liar. And I may have a lot more faith in grade schoolers than you do. In fact, they would never tolerate a liar in the first place, let alone nominate him/her to represent them. The truth is you'll not be able to venture too far on the interwebs without seeing scornful comments regarding Mr. Ryan. The take away for children and adults is don't lie or you'll be called a Lyin' Ryan, and no one will ever trust you again.

I am so sorry I did not know earlier that Ryan would be in town. Would have loved to stand outside Google headquarters with a big pro-choice sign.

Most of you sound very informed, but for those who are not, read about Paul Ryan's many LIES told at the Republican Convention at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/paul-ryan-fails----the-truth/2012/08/29/bbfe1eac-f254-11e1-b74c-84ed55e0300b_blog.html?tid=pm_pop http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_CVN_GOP_CONVENTION_FACT_CHECK?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-08-30-07-31-10 http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/robert-schlesinger/2012/08/29/paul-ryan-repeats-auto-bailout-medicare-lies http://www.thenation.com/blog/169648/they-love-lies-paul-ryan-tells http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/08/ryan-risks-reputation-with-misleading-nomination-speech.php http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/08/30/michael-tomasky-on-paul-ryan-s-convention-speech-and-his-web-of-lies.html http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/08/30/paul-ryans-speech-in-three-words/ http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/08/30/772921/6-worst-lies-in-paul-ryans-speech/?mobile=nc http://www.tnr.com/blog/plank/106730/ryan-most-dishonest-convention-speech-five-lies-gm-medicare-deficit-medicaid Romney-Ryan: Can't trust them. And how many lies has Obama told? I doubt we could even list them all in several comment boxes. It's crazy that we feel we should choose between the lesser of two evils. Why doesn't the Patch do a better job of covering other parties besides Dem and Rep? There's an interesting clip below of the Green Party Candidate. Google even banned her ad. I guess they are afraid that people might be starting to wake up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnfcRaXExEo&noredirect=1 Let's hear about ALL the candidates for President, not just the mainstream media's preselected choices.

Let's talk some "policy": Today Rep. Ryan explained how his 14 years in the House trumps the President's Senate Committee on Foreign Relations experience: "I voted to send men and women to war, I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan, I've met with our troops to get their perspectives. I've been to the funerals. I've talked to the widows, I've talked to the wives, the moms and the dads. That's something. That matters. I take that very seriously." I vonder if he can see Russia from his house? Video: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7421092n

@Susan....AWESOME! lol... We need another site to fact check factcheck.org. CNN does a better job, frankly. I notice the people of this board on the GOP bandwagon are Mcmansion builders *ahem* and others are too cowardly to list their real occupations on their profile (is foolery an occupation?) I can appreciate discretion, but search your heart. Not all of us can "afford" Romney for president. Some of us are barely scraping by, working in the public sector or for very little wage, in an affluent area that forgets its working class. When you vote, think of people outside of yourself. Think of an America that was built on all kinds of people—not just the Harvard business elite.

The look on Norah O'Donnell's face is absolutely priceless: "You voted for defense cuts, now you're criticizing the President for those same defense cuts that YOU voted for and called a victory. " Pants On Fire: "No no…" Face the Nation video: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-3460_162-57509048/ryan-defends-his-support-of-defense-cuts/?tag=showDoorFlexGridRight;flexGridModule President Clinton said it best during his amazing DNC speech: “When congressman Ryan looked into the TV camera and attacked President Obama’s Medicare savings as the ‘biggest, coldest power play,’ I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Because, that $716 billion is exactly, to the dollar, the same amount of Medicare savings that he had in his own budget. You got to admit one thing — it takes some brass to attack a guy for doing what you did.”
Larry Cargnoni September 10, 2012 at 10:20 PM
Ryan is just as brash and out there with his comments as Obama was back in 2008...Obama changed his stripes at every campaign stop...nothng new....the upstarts always think that the current admin's out of touch....and the admin always plays the "you don't know everything" card...every president plays the "executive order" card too.....it comes down to values and what you want in a leader
