Mountain Charley's Closes With a Bang!

Club-goers drink, dance and say goodbye to popular establishment Saturday evening, its final day of operation.

After more than four decades of dancing and entertaining the local club scene in the South Bay, its doors for good Saturday evening with a packed house.

DJ Haun Solo did his best to keep loyal club-goers chilling all night long.

The '70s revivalist rock-n-roll band Melted Horses played a two-hour set, followed by DJ dance music.

Nobody wanted to go on record about the reasons for the closure, but more than one clubby said Los Gatos is cracking down on establishments that sell alcohol. 

It was also not clear if the 180 Restaurant and Lounge, which is next to the club at 15½ No. Santa Cruz Ave., is also shutting down.

One patron, who didn't want to be identified, said the building owner will not renew the lease to club owner Erik Garcia, the brother of convicted murderer Esequiel Paul Garcia.
