Los Gatos Rotarians Under New Leadership

Morning and afternoon groups to continue philanthropy and financial support for social and educational causes.

The two clubs are under new leadership and planning exciting activities based on their moto of "service above self."

Longtime Los Gatos resident William Piche succeeded Tom Boyce as president of the Los Gatos Afternoon Rotary Club.

Piche is a native of Oregon, was raised in Medford, OR and attended the University of Oregon. He holds an MBA from Oregon and master's degree in public health from UCLA.

He served as CEO of various hospitals in California and was a senior executive with various health systems during a 40-year career. He was CEO at Good Samaritan from 1997 to 2009. He's currently president of the Samaritan Cancer Foundation. He's married and has two adult daughters.

Los Gatos resident Jane Darwin, a local Realtor with Intero Real Estate Services, replaced Greg Stowers as the president of the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club.

She a founding member of the organization, which began in 2003. The clubs have about 200 active members.

Both clubs meet at the Los Gatos Lodge Wednesdays, one at 7:15 a.m. and one at noon.

The debunking of the old president of the Los Gatos afternoon Rotary Club took place June 28 at the Mountain Winery.
