Los Gatos Food Truck Fest a Hit!

Organizers say they'll have more events catering to alternative food choices at La Hacienda Inn.

Organizers of what they claimed was the first-ever food truck fest in Los Gatos and the West Valley cities say Friday evening's event at La Hacienda Inn was a success considering attendance and receipt sales from the vendors that participated.

"Event went really well. We will have more in the future," wrote former Monte Sereno mayor Curtis Wright in an email, who helped as a consultant for the event presented by The Mobile Gourmet April 27 in front of La Hacienda Inn, 18840 Saratoga-Los Gatos Rd.

Hungry crowds enjoyed live music by The Jokers, beer and wine, and mobile food trucks such as The Shackmobile, House of Siam, Curry Up Now!, Big Shrimppin', Pollo Frito, Los Altos Taco and Curry Up Now!

Russ Stanley, the owner of La Hacienda, allowed his lot to be used free of charge as a test, Wright added, noting that organizers were hoping to make a little bit of money from the sale of beer and wine.

Wright said estimated attendance was 1,000 people, with the only problem reported being people parking in the bike lane on Highway 9.
